The Museum of Dolls and Traditional Toys of Kashan is the home of Jafar Allameh Faizi, a poet and cleric of the late Qajar period, which dates back to more than 150 years ago.The building of the doll and toy museum, under the name Sohrabi House, has been registered in the list of national monuments of Iran. Dolls and toys have been collected by the management of “Amir Sohrabi” museum as a result of years of travel and research in the cities and villages of Iran.From 1986 to 1990, Mr. Sohrabi prepared a collection of dolls while traveling to different provinces, and in this regard, he wrote the book “Backstage Puppets and Puppets in Isfahan and Nain”. The life story of these dolls is told to the visitors by the museum guides.In the winter of 2016, after the renovation of the accommodation section, it was added to this historical museum and started its activity under the name of the tourism accommodation of the doll and toy museum.The Kashan Doll and Toy Museum has gathered examples of the oldest dolls, toys and marionettes from the Qajar era. The doll and toy museum residence has seven rooms that surround the courtyard of the complex.Mr. Sohrabi was a theater student living in Tehran and was interested in folklore topics and Iranian plays and games.In the project of preparing the encyclopedia of Iran’s games and entertainment, he was one of the authors and traveled to several provinces in line with the research.And at the same time, the initial sparks of “collecting and preparing a collection of the oldest dolls in Iran and holding an exhibition” were struck.
