Lucy House of Kashan is the title of a cultural complex in the heart of the historical context of Kashan, dedicating to the exhibition of photographs. This restored Qajar house has 3 courtyards, 30 rooms and 2 windmills and showcases the works of photographers who have received the Lucy Photo Award.The Lucy Award has been held annually since 2003 and honors photographers from around the world who have dedicated their lives to photography.up to now, about 150 photographers have received this award, including Cartier Bresson, David Bailey, Nan Goldin, James Nchoi, Steve McCurry, Martin Parr, Stephen Shore, etc.At Lucy’s House, photos are not for sale. Photos are unsigned, edited and without monetary value. This show is only for introducing the great masters of photography who have been honored by the Lucy Award. The present collection is collected from among the photos that the photographers themselves gave to the Lucy Foundation for display. Also, rooms are dedicated to certain photographers such as Kenro Izzo, George Tice and Steve McCurry.In addition, for Lucy Kashan House, two exhibition spaces (one outside and one inside) have been considered for setting up temporary exhibitions.In addition to exhibition spaces, the present collection also has a library and a media room.The founder of this house-museum is Hossein Farmani, the founder of the Lucy Award, who has done this work with the cooperation of Hassan Roshanbakht and Hossein Roshanbakht.The restoration of Lucy’s house, which took two years, was done by Hassan and Hossein Roshan Bakht. Considering the use of the building, the principle of simplicity has been tried in the restoration. The general principle in restoration is to preserve the general structure of traditional architecture and add modern elements.
